Durimit Deri ne Fund...It's a Journey.

Because of the 100 year Anniversary last month Albania obtained Skenderbeu's sword and helmet. They are in a museum here and we got to go and see them today. He is the hero of Christianity here in Albania. They have lots of statues of him and it was SUPER cool to see his sword and helmet. That must have been so heavy and the sword was SO long. like as long as I am tall. really cool. It also had Albanian guards.. guarding it. and they were all dressed up in uniform. Pretty fun. One of my pictures is outside of the museum with these Kings statues of Albania. They are new too, and were pretty cool. Really big. Also this past week we got a new couple here in Durres!! Elder and Sister Bott. I think it may take her a while to really feel comfortable living here, but they are both lively and ready to work. I love it! It already has been so fun to have them here.

This week I finished reading True to The Faith. I really enjoyed reading this book. I love the way it is written in 2nd person. Directly to the reader. It's like a giant Patriarchal Blessing..kinda. I learned a lot more about specific things, learned a lot of new scriptures that I really enjoyed and have helped me a lot in teaching others about the gospel, and felt the spirit testifying of the truths of the doctrines and principles I would read about. I love this gospel! We often like to use this book in our lessons to teach certain principles more clearly, or to help members understand/learn more about specific subjects. It often explains things in different ways than you learn them usually. I like that. I've used the section on the Atonement a few times helping them understand it isn't just for our sins, but for everything! The Atonement really is the greatest gift ever. The more I understand it and the more I learn about it, the more amazed and more grateful I am for this wonderful gift from the Savior. I loved the section on forgiveness... it was really well written and I loved the feelings I felt while reading it; thinking of how I could use it to help the people here to learn to forgive and not be offended by things that have happened in the church or by other people. And... lots of others too. It really is so great! Being able to read and study not only for myself, but mostly for myself to better help others has helped me learn so much! Then I realize we should always be doing this. Not just missionaries. You always have a calling in the church, even if it is only to be the best Visiting/Home teacher that you can be. As we study we should always not only be thinking of how to apply these things in our personal lives, but also all the people around us and with those we watch over in our callings.

Also.. everyone should watch that cool video mom sent me today about the Rome temple! You think they are building a temple in Rome and how wonderful that will be for Italy, but really it is Far more than that. It is going to bless the lives of SO many people, especially Albanians. They have to go to Germany now if they go, and i've only met a few people that have gone more than once. Having a temple in Italy will be such an amazing blessing for so many people. I can't wait. Lots more first visits, and continuing visits to the temple. SO great! I often tell people that my family is from Calabria and they always freak out and say that is where so many Albanians are. Their are a lot of Albanians here with family in Italy. Pretty cool. I can't wait to go their someday and see.

Love you all! Hope you have a wonderful week!
