Gezuar Vitin i Ri-- Happy New Year! -- Jan 1, 2013

This week has been kinda crazy. Motra Atkin's last week of being a missionary... we taught a lot of lessons, which was the best! We got transfer calls on Saturday night and I found out that... I'm going to serve in a city called Prishtina... KOSOVO. What! My new companion is Motra Richardson and we will be opening Kosovo for sisters. They speak a lot "thicker" in Kosovo... aka... I hope I will be able to understand and speak... someday. ha. We came to Tirana, Albania yesterday (mon.) morning to transfer and are still here because of some delays, but we should be off tonight. Everyone keeps asking me if I'm excited and I don't really know what to be. I decided that really I don't care where I am or who I'm with missionary work is the same now matter where you go. We'll see. I hear that their are a lot more real Muslims in Kosovo so... we'll see.

Last night however because we were still in Tirana. All 6 of us sisters were here for the new year!! We all stayed in the sisters apartment here which isn't that big, and pretty much had a sister missionary sleep over. (Which was great because we just learned that we will be getting ALOT more sisters in the next few months... from 6 to 14 sisters by July!... Whoa!) The New Year is crazy here!!!  We were aloud to watch the fireworks at midnight and WOW it was quite the show. They live on like the 4th floor of a building so it was really great. We opened the big window in the living room and enjoyed the Albanian battlefield of fireworks. It was like Memorial Hill, but for a long time and the WHOLE city. They were shot off from everywhere. It was so fun!

This morning we all wen't to the airport to pick up Motra Atkin's parents and little brother. They made it and looked great! She still can't believe that her mission is over. I believe it. Time as a missionary is so weird. Sometimes it seems like time goes by so slow, and then the next thing you know you've already been in the Albania for 3 months! wow... then before you know it your already going home. It's kinda sad, but makes me want to continue to really try to never waste any time. Their is so much to learn, so many people to find, love, and teach, and so much to do!

I love the new program for the youth. I saw a little bit of it a few weeks ago on lds.org, and then mom sent me more about it this week. I love this program because this is how the Lord does things! This is exactly how missionary work is, and should be how everything is. It makes me really excited to hear about the program. It will be SO great!

I love you all so much! I don't know what I would ever do without the best family that I have! I love being a missionary and I love this gospel more than anything. It really is the greatest experience to be able to share the greatest thing that you have in your life. The only thing that can bring true happiness... forever! and I love seeing the people here learn about it and totally change their lives. I love to see and hear about the feelings they have and the changes that they recognize in their own lives... and oh.. they don't even realize the changes that we as missionaries get to see in them. We know what they need and when they accept it... Oh it's the greatest!

Happy New Year!
Me Dashuri,
Motra Hoover
