So funny thing is that in the MTC we
always said C'kemi to say hello. When I got to Albania I was like... no
one even says that! Why did they teach us that. ha. I only heard it from
a few teenagers in Durres. Then I went to Kosovo where the language is
completely different from everything else here so of course they don't
say C'kemi. But now that I am back and in Tirana. It seems that more and
more people say it daily. ha. I say it now too sometimes when I think
about it. Just kinda funny. The language here is crazy. So similar but
so different in such a small place. AHHH... i love it. ha.
It
has been really good here. Hot and sweaty and good. Reading some of my
emails today it sounds like lots of people in lots of different
locations had some rainstorms this past week. We did too! The world
isn't really that big after all. ha. Saturday
we had a huge! down poor of rain. Of course we were inside and came
out without umbrella's. We would have gotten soaked if the missionary
couple didn't happen to be there also to take us closer to our house.
The funny thing about Albania when it rains is that the streets become
rivers. It's fun. One of the Albanians in the car also told us, as we
opened the door to step into the pool of water, that when it is raining
missionaries are allowed to swim. ha. I loved it! Today we also went on a
really fun hike all over the hills surrounding the city. We found lots
of fun things like... fresher air!!!! old bunkers, turtles, and
destroyed buildings. It was really fun all 10 of us in our district. I
loved it really. I needed to get out of the city and hike a little. I'm
glad I could get everyone else to do it with me. It's always more fun
with more people, right!!
Missionary work is incredible isn't it!! We finally watched the Missionary training from June called the Work of Salvation. Everyone should watch this!!! It is all about how the missionaries can't do this work without the
members and how we really are all one in this important work. It is
always fun for me to hear about little ways my family is doing more
missionary like actions. I hope you will continue to pray for these
opportunities and take them when they come! It's true the Lord needs us
all to be one to spread the gospel to everyone! It was inspiring and
uplifting and I loved it! One of my favorite quotes was by Elder Nelson
saying "Follow the feelings of your heart. The most effective
missionaries always act out of LOVE!" Love is powerful, I agree. Dad
also wrote me a letter once about love that I will never forget! As I
have striven to have more love in my heart as a missionary, my work that
I have daily instantly has become more and more exciting. Love is what
the people of the world need. So go share some love!
"The Lord is asking us to do far more! Exercise your faith! Rescue!"
Simply,
I just love my family so much! I really do. I'm so grateful for all of
you. It truly is something special to be apart of something so great! I
LOVE telling people here that there are 11 children in my family. They
always go (ahhhh... uou (wow)... or Marshalla!!! Marshalla! (Turkish))
They love it and all often wish they had a big family like me!
Have a great week everyone!
