This week has been really great! This last weeked I was really able
to understand almost everything my teachers say and I have been able to
translate the book of mormon really well! It still is going to take
alot of time, but its so great when you have a few days that you feel
like its all really coming together and your really starting to
understand... like it is possible to really learn a different language. I
even wrote one day in my planner... I love this language! It really is
so ancient and beautiful the way things are said and the way words are
put together... every word has meaning. EX. Lumturi = Happiness, but the
word split up really means "running river". Pretty crazy but I love it!
This week I have been focusing on the Christ like
Attribute of Hope! Hope is so powerful and I think that we forget how
important it is to hope for things! I know that trust and faith = HopE!
and that when we trust in our Savior and our Father in Heaven and have
faith in their gospel on the Earth we will be so blessed! All of the
blessings promised to us will come true. and they will give us happiness
and bless us with things that they know are best for us!
Being a missionary is quite the adventure. I have
learned so much and have gained even more love for this gopel. For my
savior, who loves me and litterally knows who I am.. He knows exactly
who I am and how I feel everyday. It so amazing! I know that as we have
faith and trust in him he will give us strength to do all things! Also
that when we are willing to open our hearts to others for Him he will be
so grateful to fill it will even greater love for others. SO great! I
have learned so much this week about the importance about setting goals
and becoming a better missionary and I hope that I can strive to work
even harder and be even more obedient so i will be blessed with a
greater understanding and greater knowledge every day.
I can't believe I've been here for six weeks! so crazy.
Everyday I wake up and think... Whoa... I'm a missionary. Only 5 more
weeks left and then I'm off to Albania! Ahh.. :) My Hungarian companions
just started concecration week this week...Which is when you speak only
your language for a whole week!! and strive to live your life as much
as a missionary as you can. Giving up things you cherise...kinda like
fasting or something like that. So everyone gives up a few things along
with the language for a week to give themselves to this gospel and be
more in the mindframe as a true missionary representing our savior. I
will start mine in only 3 weeks from today! CRAZY! only Albanian for a
whole week. My mind is really going to hurt. It already does just doing
it during all meals, and for a few mornings, all day on thursday... it
will be so great though. I think it will help to really become Albanian
which is my ultimate goal as a missionary. Love the people so much, and
the language that they speak that I become one of them, truely as one of
their daughters, sisters, etc. We'll see I guess.
So anyway... they started today so basically I'm learning hungarian
and Albanian here. I have to translate for them and continually try to
guess what they are saying. ha. they will do so great though. its sad to
think they are already getting ready to leave soon. It all goes by so
fast, at the same time I feel like I've been here forever. Really wierd!
I love you All! Hope you have a wonderful week. Life is so great and so happy as long
as we always remember our first priority... The gospel of Jesus Christ
of Latter day Saints. So much power comes through living what we know
and believe! and continually studying to understand more about our
Fathers purpose for each of us.
Janë shume mirë java!!

I received a letter from Kristi this week here are a few of her thoughts:
ReplyDelete"I was just thinking...these are the last days and we need to be raising our kids strong in the gospel so they will be strong always and become instruments in Gods hands....
Parents that are always putting the gospel first! Putting family as priority. Praying for strength and guidance and working so hard to assure that their family feels God's love and our Saviors love. It's amazing how being selfless...always looking outward and not inward...or becoming more like our Savior can bring us so much happiness in this life!...
Our family is so blessed to have so much love for each other. We all love being together more than anyone else and THAT is special!!! We have wonderful parents that love the Savior and Heavenly Fathers plan for us. They are continually giving everything they have and work for others! I think they almost never think of themselves. It is always what can I give today. Who can I serve. How can I help or love someone more today. It's so special. I think because of that I have felt a lot of love, comfort, and safety in our family.
I think one of the reasons it is important for me to write home not only to my family but to blog is so that I can share what I am doing and allow others to see my progress. So you can see who I have become and who I am becoming...so that others can learn through what I am learning. I am excited to share who I am becoming and what I am learning and experiencing with others!
Again I am just so excited for others to know how I am doing, what I am doing, what I am seeing and experiencing, what I am learning and most important WHO I am becoming!
I love being a missionary it's crazy but so wonderful! And I want to share my love for this gospel and my Savior with everyone I can!
Love,
Motra Kristi Hoover!"
