"Yam gati për të shkuar në Shqipëri!!!" MTC Sept. 26th

I can't believe how fast time seems to fly. We got our flight plans last Friday... I'm really going to Albania!! Ahhh. I will fly with my 6 elders leaving the MTC . We fly from Salt Lake to Washington DC, then from Washington DC to Vienna Austria, then from Vienna Austria to Tirana, ALBANIA. I Can't believe it! It's going to be quite the Advendture!! I'm excited.
I just finished Concecration week... I spoke Albanian for a whole week.. I really did it. My mind literally hurt like everyday... but it has been SO amazing. I have learned and grown so much and it really is a miracle that this language has already become apart of me. I"m so blessed. I can speak SO much better and understand SO much more too. It really is amazing how much God blesses us.... Not saying that I am any where near fluency yet thought... but I do KNOW that we serve for 18months or 2years so that we can learn little by little (Avash, Avash). everyday. NOthing comes all at once. I love it. and look forward to continuing to learn more and more everyday! I love being a missionary...because I feel the spirit SO strong every day... all day. The MTC is so great! It's kinda sad to leave.. It's going to be so different. I am excited to have a companion though that also speaks Albanian. ha.
I got a new Hungarian companion last wednesday and eventhough I haven't been able to really talk to her (no english) we have gotten along so well. Her name is Oberhansley Nover. I Love her! Such a relief to have a companion again.. just one companion. ha.
I've never mentioned anything about TRC so I thought I would. TRC is SO amazing. From week 3 and on we have had members come that speak Albanian and we get to teach them as themselves. Just like when the missionaries come for dinner and leave a message with us afterward. It has been so fun... I often am really scared, but I have had some really amazing experiences through TRC. I know that it isn't just for us to practice speaking and teaching the gospel it really is for the volunteers also. It's amazing how the spirit works. One week we felt we should teach the Gosel of Jesus Christ, which we hadn't ever taught before yet... but it was amazing how absolutely perfect it was for the volunteer. She told us a personal story about her life, and the spirit was so strong! I loved it. At the beginning we would teach 2/ 20 minute lessons and the last 4 or 5 times have been 1/ 40min lesson. YOu all should go and volunteer for like family night or something some week. It would be SO amazing to have a whole family come in. WOW. I would have loved that. It usually is just random college students. Do it!
This sunday we got to be apart of the Brigham City Temple dedication. It was so GREAT! I loved it. I love the temple and am definitly going to miss going until I come home.   I got to see Wade at the temple this morning!!  This is my last temple trip before I leave :-)
So along with concecration week I also had a goal to not allow Satan to distract me, and at the beginning I felt even more destracted and it was kinda frustrating. I really tried my hardest to stay focused and remember who I am and why I am here always and I think because I was focused on it is why I felt even more distracted. I just hadn't realized how much he really does distract me from my purpose. It was amazing and I feel even more a missionary now... It will definitly be something I will always have to continue to work on though.
It's crazy to leave the MTC. I really do love it here! I love my Elders, I love my Teachers. I love it all. I've learned and grown SO much it's amazing. I have felt a little scared to leave actually.. it's something I've never done before. But even just yesterday I felt so much peace and love in my heart. I know it was from my loving Heavenly Father. I know He lives and that He loves me SO much. I'm SO grateful for his love and for my Savior. They really are my very best friends. I know they are always there for me and that I can do hard things! Everything we do, learn, and everything that happens to us everyday is for a reason. Their is SO much knowledge to be gained... and we can do it through our experiences and acting on our Faith daily. As we act on what we Believe... we can come to know ALL things through the spirit. WHAT a Promise!! Amazing.
Yam gati për të shkuar në Shqipëri!!! (I am ready to go to Albania!)
Any suggestions for flying... Dear Elder me!!!
I love you all so much! Thanks for all your love and support.
Thankyou!

  1. Kristi,

This morning Sonja asked me for fancy hair. She wanted little buns. So I proceeded to give her the same messy buns I had given to Laurana this morning. As I was working she said "Mom why are you giving me ponytails?" I told her that to get buns I needed to do ponytails first. She replied "Mom that's now how Kristi does it! She just does cute little twisty buns on the top." That's right I said but I already did these buns so we will have to do them Kristi's way next time. Who has done her hair more Me or you?? Evidently you do it the RIGHT way. Our conversation continued...

"Why did Kristi have to go have to go on a mission?" So she can teach people about Jesus. Did you know there are people that don't know about Jesus? Kristi will teach them and then they can get baptized.

"When she is done can she come home?" Yes.

"Is she going to do it for a long time?" Yes.

"Then we can see her at our house?" Yes! She will come to visit us when she gets home.

"And can I invite some of my friends like Kate and Sanders to come and see her?" Sure. "OK that would be FUN!"

We LOVE you. Maybe wear some cute twirly buns for us while you teach people about Jesus!! Remember even the littlest thing can leave a big impact that will be remembered forever. Things you do or say may change someones life and you will never even know it :-)

Have a great day!! We Love you! Sonja & Nicki
